What is Tux Crazy?
Tux Crazy is a place where you can find high quality, useful articles focused on software that is available for Linux and/or Windows. I will mostly be focusing on Linux but a lot of software is multi platform and available for Windows. I will also write Windows articles as I am familiar with Windows as well
Who is my target audience?
People who want to broaden their knowledge about the software that might be useful for them. If you're using Linux or Windows, you will find this website useful. I have used Macs in school and will occasionally explain how to do something on a Mac but most of the content will be Linux/Windows oriented.
Why did I create this website?
I've had a YouTube channel since 2008, but felt limited by what I could explain an YouTube and so I launched this website.
It is also my way of saying thank you to the developers behind all the Linux projects and the people who are so helpful in forums. This is my way of giving back and the main motivation behind this site. Software such as Lyx, GIMP, Inkscape, Openoffice, SpiderOak, Dropbox, Kdenlive etc. has helped me a lot with my school work and other creative work without me having to pay a cent.
I remember being new to Linux or to any software program. Some things that seem obvious now weren't obvious back then. That is why I sometimes mention things that might seem obvious. It might be a bit longer to read but at least you know exactly what you need to do. If you have a problem or would like to learn about something and I have written something regarding what you are interested in, I would like my article to be the only source you need.
How often will I write articles?
I've decided to commit to a weekly release system so that I have enough time to write something useful. Also, I'd rather put out something worth your time rather than something mediocre daily. I hope that my articles eventually reach a level where you, the reader, looks forward to my articles.
Who am I?
My name is Ankur Srivastava. I am currently a Mechatronics student in Germany. I have been using Linux since May 2009 and Computers in general since 2007. Before that, I used to use a computer to play an occasional game or create a presentation. I used the Internet for maybe for 30 minutes a week. I have no idea where my interest has come from. I am not an expert but rather someone who is learning new things all the time. Through this website, I have the opportunity to share with others what I learn.
Though this does not mean that stuff here will be substandard. I write every article with a lot of care. No article has ever been written half-heartedly.
How can you contact me?
If you have some feedback, would like to say hello or would like to suggest something for me to write about, you can email me at tuxcrazy2010@gmail.com.
